Day trip to Ouzoud

Day trip to Ouzoud, The tour starts at 8 AM in Marrakech. It takes about 2.5 h for our minibus or 4 × 4 vehicle to drive to the falls. This is an excellent opportunity to escape from the city and leave in Morocco that not many people see! On our way we can explore the countryside, passing through many traditional Moroccan cities and rural villages.

Distance and Transportation: Ouzoud is situated approximately 150 kilometers (93 miles) northeast of Marrakech. The journey typically takes around 2 to 3 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions.

Ouzoud Waterfalls: The highlight of the day trip is undoubtedly the Ouzoud Waterfalls. These cascades are among the highest and most impressive waterfalls in Morocco, plunging down approximately 110 meters (360 feet) in a series of tiers. The falls are surrounded by lush greenery, creating a picturesque and tranquil setting.

Activities: Once you arrive at Ouzoud, there are several activities you can enjoy:

Hiking: You can explore the area by taking a hike along the well-marked trails. The hike provides stunning views of the waterfalls from different vantage points and allows you to get closer to the cascades.

Boat Ride: There are small boats available for hire that can take you on a short ride near the base of the waterfalls. This gives you a unique perspective and allows you to feel the misty spray of the falls.

Swimming: If you visit during the warmer months, you might have the opportunity to swim in the natural pools formed by the waterfalls. It’s a refreshing experience and a great way to cool off.

Wildlife Spotting: Keep an eye out for the Barbary macaques that inhabit the area. These playful monkeys are often seen near the waterfalls and can be quite entertaining to observe. Be cautious with your belongings, as they may try to snatch food or objects.

After a restful and relaxing afternoon we return again to Marrakech.
